In any industry, team building activities and work-based competitions not only create a happier work force and a positive working environment, but they also go a long way towards rewarding the dedication, tenacity, and skill of those employees. \u00a0With this in mind, the team at La Marzocco South Africa<\/a> were proud to attend and present a prize for the first-ever Woolworths National Barista Coach competition.<\/p>\n

Over the last few months, Woolworths\u2019s barista coaches and trainers from around South Africa have been battling it out to claim their stake as Woolworths South Africa\u2019s best barista trainer. With the competition whittled down through regional competitions, the top 5 traveled to the Tribeca headquarters in Centurion, Gauteng to flex their coffee muscles on a beautiful custom Strada ABR and prove they\u2019re the best in the business.<\/p>\n

Modeled after a traditional WBC championship, competitors chose a coffee origin from the Tribeca stable, researched, prepared and developed rehearsed performances that would have been home on any WBC stage.<\/p>\n

Bongani Mogotlane from Johannesburg took the top prize, with Olwethu Taleni from Cape Town in first runner up, and Thami Ndlovu from Kwa-Zulu Natal taking third place.<\/p>\n

A huge well done to everyone who competed, \u00a0and the team at Tribeca for organizing such an amazing competition. We can\u2019t wait to see who wins in 2023.<\/p>\n
